Three Time Tested Ways to Get Organic Skincare Right
As the world is getting more aware of the numerous disadvantages of certain minerals, plastics, and ingredients used by the cosmetic industry, more and more people have been turning to alternatives. The internet is now flooded with innumerable DIY skincare routines and almost all of them are fully economical. Before you go ahead and whip up some face masks, get your basic skincare methods perfected, so you have a strong foundation to build upon. Here are some essential tips for organic skincare.
Cleansing your skin
Ensure that you wash your face regularly. One does not need the best face wash in the world or the most expensive one in order to have a perfectly clean face. Just water is more than enough. If you still feel the need to use a cleaning agent, dry roast green gram and grind it to smooth powder. You could carry this in a small box and mix it with water when you feel the need to deep clean your face.
Most people tend to cleanse their skin in the morning after waking up or in the night after removing the makeup. To take this part of your routine a step further, opt for the application of raw honey in the morning. Raw honey contains antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties and efficiently cleans your skin without stripping it. Take a teaspoon of raw honey and massage it onto your face. Leave it on for about 10 minutes and wash it off with warm water. You could also use jojoba oil to remove your makeup. This is certainly the most underrated oil, especially considering its great effects on the skin. Its properties leave the pores unblocked, which is great for the skin to breathe. Besides, it contains similar properties structurally to our skin’s natural sebum, making it perfect for moisturizing. A lot of people swear by jojoba oil for it effectively removes the most stubborn makeup residue.
Exfoliating your skin
There is no getting away from exfoliation. The dead skin has to be removed in order to let fresh skin breathe and have a natural glow. Hand-blend oats (hand-rolled organic oats) with either milk or yogurt. You could add a pinch of turmeric to it. Turmeric has some incredible properties that help to maintain the oil balance of your skin. Allow this mixture to soak in a bowl for about 30 minutes. Apply it on your face, next and arms. Leave it on for about 10 minutes and wash with warm water.
If you exfoliate regularly, you can switch oats for rice flour in the summer months as it has oil-absorbing agents
Toning your skin
Try using rose milk water for this purpose. Boil 2 cups of water and add nearly 6 cups of fresh rose petals. The liquid must be reduced to a great extent for you to get the perfect consistency. Drain the petals and transfer the liquid to a bottle after it cools down. Use fresh cotton to dab your face with rose water. Ensure to avoid the area around the eyes and use slices of cucumber instead.
